Traveler’s Friend – Bio-Citrus
Each year, thousands of sun-seekers return home with more than just memories from their trip. Nausea, stomach cramps, vomiting and diarrhea can be some of the more unpleasant side effects from a get-away in the sun, if simple precautions for food and water are not followed.

If you are planning to travel to the tropics, you may be at risk of developing traveler’s diarrhea (also known as "tourista", "Montezuma's revenge", etc). Your risk of becoming ill will depend on where you stay and on the quality and purity of the food you eat and the water you drink. For example, backpacking in rural areas would have more risk than staying at a 5-star hotel.

GENERAL FOOD AND WATER PRECAUTIONS :
o Eat food that has been well cooked and is still hot when served.
o Drink only purified water that has been boiled or disinfected with Bio-Citrus drops, or commercially bottled water.
o Make sure that bottled water is in a sealed container.
o Carbonated drinks without ice, including beer, are usually safe.
o Avoid food from street vendors.

REMEMBER: COOK IT, PEEL IT, OR LEAVE IT!
It is estimated that each year, 1/3 of travelers to the tropics suffer from some digestive problem. While most of these are caused by changes in purity of the water and food, some are due to consumption of exotic and spicy foods, disruption of eating and sleeping patterns, and excessive sun.
When you travel, it is important to use common sense in the foods you select and the activities you undertake.
IF YOU GET DIARRHEA
Should you develop nausea, stomach cramps, diarrhea or vomiting during travel or after returning, you should seek medical attention if the symptoms persist longer than 48 hours, or if there is bloody diarrhea.
Taking a Bio-Citrus capsule at the first sign of a problem usually begins to, immediately, lessen the symptoms and continuing to take a capsule (after each consecutive bowel movement) will help eliminate whatever bacteria or parasites may be causing the problem.
Most cases of traveler’s diarrhea are self-limiting and clear up in a few days. Be sure to drink more fluids (bottled water, or weak tea if still traveling) as soon as diarrhea starts.
NOTE : Use of antibiotics (such as ciprofloxacin, cotrimoxazole, doxyclycline, or tetracycline) as a preventative measure is not recommended.
